TEMPORARY EXTENSION UNDER TARIFF VIII IS AN AUTHORIZED EXTENSION
Temporary extension taking by a consumer to his new building is treated as an authorized connection under tariff VIII and cannot penalize the consumer on daily fixed rate. They may be penalize for the unauthorized connected load under a normal extension taking by a consumer. The fixed daily charges cannot be counted as tariff rate for penalization. This was ruled by the High Court of Kerala Order No WP(C) No 10841/2012 dated 10 Dec 2012.
